Comcast invites all United Way volunteers and their families to join their staff for their annual, national volunteer day! Comcast employees have been holding a food drive, which will benefit Second Harvest Food Bank, and on the 24th we’ll be sorting that food to prepare it for delivery to Second Harvest. In addition, volunteers will be building bookcases to benefit Metropolitan Nashville Public Schools’ Teacher of the Year classrooms.
Comcast welcomes you to bring canned food items to add to the cause.
Timeline for Comcast Cares Day
Registration/LIVE UNITED T-Shirt Pick-Up for Volunteers: 8 - 9 a.m.
Presentation by Comcast and Community Leaders: 9 a.m.
Volunteer Work, Family Fun Zone and Food: 9:30 a.m. – 12 p.m.
Projects open for all ages on food sorting and family fun; bookcases must be built by volunteers ages 16 and up.

Every year on Comcast Cares Day, Comcast bring together tens of thousands of Comcast employees, their families and friends to make a positive impact in neighborhoods across the country. 2009’s Comcast Cares Day saw a record-breaking turnout with more than 60,000 volunteers at 600 project sites around the country. Comcast Cares Day began in 2001, and has grown to become one of the largest single-day corporate volunteer efforts in the country. Comcast employees, families and friends have now volunteered at more than 2,300 projects since Comcast Cares Day began and delivered nearly 1.4 million hours of service.
