Each week in Davidson County, 1 in 9 infants are born to women receiving late or no prenatal care. 24 babies are born preterm, 16 are born low birth weight, and 1 will die before age one. United Way is making a difference in Nashville by initiating a city-wide effort to collect essential baby items that will help prepare at-risk mothers to give their newborns a stronger start. Join us for a Community Baby Shower, where we will unite to give more than 1,000 newborns the supplies and support needed for a healthy beginning. You can host a Baby Shower, donate needed baby items, or donate money toward the purchase of items. Drop off items at United Way’s office or during the Sort-A-Thon on Thursday, November 11.
