In 2002, tests showed that only 33% of at-risk kindergartners entering school were ready to learn. Since that time, United Way’s nine Read to Succeed childcare centers have been working to combat that daunting statistic. The centers annually enroll 1,200 children in the program (starting as early as six weeks old).
Today, Read to Succeed boasts a 99.4% school readiness success rate for children heading into kindergarten.
We are excited that Davis-Kidd Booksellers is partnering with United Way of Metropolitan Nashville to collect much-needed Board Books for 1,200 of Nashville’s at-risk infants and toddlers served by United Way’s Read to Succeed Centers. Visit our Day of Action event page to learn more.
