Give an hour. Give the gift of you. VOLUNTEER.

We all have special talents. Things we can do to help.
And when we reach out a hand to one, we influence the condition of all.

Through these Day of Action opportunities, United Way donors and volunteers are making a difference in the lives of those in need right here in Nashville:
Over 800 volunteers have participated hands-on!
Over 1,356 volunteer hours have been donated to the Nashville community to-date through United Way of Metropolitan Nashville's Day of Action.
Over 8,500 basic needs and personal care items distributed to men, women and children in need.
Over 3,500 books were given to children ages birth - 2½ for keeping at home; many of these children did not previously have any books at home.
Over 15,000 school supplies were donated resulting in over 1,000 backpacks full of supplies for children who need them when they start school.
In 2008, United Way of Metropolitan Nashville, along with United Ways across America, launched the inaugural Day of Action on June 21. The volunteer effort was so well received, United Way of Metropolitan Nashville committed to holding additional Day of Action volunteer opportunities throughout the year, all geared around our four focus areas - Education. Income. Health. and Neighborhoods.
