Leadership Engagement offers an array of opportunities designed to help you get the most out of your partnership with United Way in order to increase impact in the Nashville community. After all, you’ve given us a generous gift — we want to ensure that YOU personally get a return on your investment, too. These include opportunities such as networking events with a focus on personal and professional development; Day of Action volunteer activities to give you a hands-on connection to United Way partner-agency work and leadership recognition communications.

African American Leaders: R.H. Boyd Society
Minimum gift of $1,000.

Since 2003, the R.H. Boyd Leadership Society has offered its members a range of unique opportunities for philanthropic giving, leadership and volunteering in the African-American community. Honoring the distinguished legacy of R.H. Boyd, a noted community minister, entrepreneur and philanthropist, this society was founded by Boyd’s great, great-grandson, Dr. T.B. Boyd, president and CEO of R.H. Boyd Publishing Corporation.



Young Professional Leaders: Sennet Society
Minimum gift of $500.

The Sennet Society offers young leaders and professionals (age 45 and under) the opportunity to become involved in the community. In addition to helping support solutions for needs in the community, members have the opportunity to serve on a committee, attend volunteer projects, as well as leadership development & networking events.



Women United In Giving

Women United in Giving encourages women to become powerful philanthropists through leadership, advocacy and fundraising. The group’s signature event, the “Walk the Talk” Luncheon, raises funds to support Women United in Giving Family Teaching Kitchens, an initiative to overcome our community’s obesity crisis by teaching healthy lifestyles.
