United Way Announces CFO Retirement
August 19, 2009NASHVILLE, Tenn., August 19, 2009 – United Way of Metropolitan Nashville announces the retirement of its senior vice president and Chief Financial Officer, Mike Green. Green has been with the organization for 18 years, having begun his career in 1991 as Controller; he was promoted to his current position in 1998.
“This organization, as well as the community, has benefitted tremendously from Mike’s leadership over the years. We are grateful for his service and wish him well in his retirement,” said Eric Dewey, president and CEO, United Way of Metropolitan Nashville.
Dennis T. Delaney, Executive Vice President for Human Resources and Administration at Ingram Industries Inc. and chair of United Way’s Finance Committee, said: “United Way is so important to our regional community, and Mike Green has made our organization even stronger through his good service. We will miss his steady hand and wise counsel.”
In addition to his role at United Way, Green has served as a member of United Way of America’s Financial Issues Committee and Chair of the national organization’s 2007 Finance Forum Planning Committee. United Way of Metropolitan Nashville hosted the forum in Nashville earlier this year. He is also a six-year veteran examiner for Tennessee Center for Performance Excellence.
