United Way celebrates 2009 campaign success
with rally, volunteer activities
Traditional celebration transformed into Day of Action for second year
WHAT: Rally celebrating United Way of Metropolitan Nashville’s 2009 fundraising campaign. Our traditional campaign celebration has once again been transformed from a sit-down luncheon to a Volunteer Day of Action, “Board Books for Babies.”
This Day of Action will benefit children served through nine United Way-supported child care centers offering Read to Succeed, United Way’s early learning initiative. The centers serve primarily poverty-level families.
TIME: Campaign Celebration Rally, 12:00 noon to 12:30 p.m.
Volunteer shift #1, 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon (volunteers sorting books)
Volunteer shift #2, 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. (volunteers sorting books)
Volunteer shift #3, 3:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. (volunteers delivering books to agencies)
