United Way of Metropolitan Nashville Launches Tools for Tough Times
August 25, 2009NASHVILLE, Tenn., United Way of Metropolitan Nashville (UWMN) launched Tools for Tough Times, a set of resources dedicated to helping anyone in Nashville who might need a helping hand during the current economic situation.
Tools for Tough Times connects individuals and families to services and information designed to assist those experiencing economic hardship. Included with the free Tools are the Financial Stability Resource Guide, tax preparation, financial counseling, community services hotline, and much more.
“Layoffs, foreclosures and shrinking family budgets mean more of our neighbors, co-workers and friends are living on the edge – some for the first time ever,” said Phil Orr, UWMN’s senior vice president of community investments. “As United Way works to advance the common good for all in our community, we’re responding to the current crisis and maintaining our commitment to those things we know are the essential building blocks to a good life – a quality education that leads to a stable job, enough income to support a family through retirement, good health and safe living conditions.”
