Board Books for Babies Day of Action

Join us for this Day of Action opportunity as we collect much-needed board books for infants toddlers. Our goal is to get 1,200 bags of books to each and every young child served by our Read to Succeed childcare centers so that they can treasure them at home. Being read to at home is critical to early learning. In 2002, tests showed that only 33% of at-risk kindergartners entering school were ready to learn. Since that time, United Ways nine Read to Succeed childcare centers have been working tcombat that daunting statistic. The centers annually enroll 1,200 children in the program (starting as early as six weeks old). Today, Read to Succeed boasts a 99.4% school readiness success rate for children heading on to kindergarten!
