The Event
Studies show that simply giving disadvantaged children free books is more effective in boosting reading scores than three months of summer school. Help us support early childhood literacy through Board Books for Babies.
There are several ways to get involved:
-Read to kids as a Volunteer Reader on Friday, March 2
-Sort donated books at the Sort-a-thon on Thursday, March 22
-Purchase books from our amazon.com wish list
-Host a book drive with friends or co-workers
-Donate online. Thanks to our partnership with Ingram Content Group, we can purchase 2 books for the price of 1!
What’s a board book? Board books are made especially for wee-ones, for use as they learn about books. The cover AND pages are sturdy cardboard that can withstand lots of love! Due to the wear-and-tear on board books, we ask that all donated books be new or like new. Please drop off all donated books at our office by Wednesday, March 21.
