No Dining. Just Doing.

The Event

United Way’s campaign celebration transformed into Day of Action:
It was a celebration designed for these profound times, giving time to honor the very best efforts as well as the opportunity to do even more.

United Way of Metropolitan Nashville presented awards to more than 80 companies and individuals for their part in the 2008 campaign during its annual campaign celebration, which also provided a day-long volunteer opportunity. The traditional sit-down luncheon was refocused into a Day of Action, transforming award-winning companies into teams of hands-on volunteers that sorted and packed basic needs supplies for struggling Nashvillians. Billed as No dining. Simply holding the celebration raised over 3,500 non-perishable food products, cleaning supplies, school supplies and personal care items and benefited 23 United Way-funded partner agencies (including neighborhood-based Family Resource Centers) experiencing increased requests for help.
