Volunteer Recognition
United Way is working to advance the common good by focusing on the building blocks of a good life – education, income, health and neighborhoods. But we can’t do it alone. We need the heads, hands and hearts of committed people like you to help us tackle the problems facing our community. We provide easy access to a wide range of volunteer opportunities. Whether you want to volunteer with your family, coworkers or on your own, we can help you find the opportunity right for you. Please join us in recognizing some of our many outstanding volunteers.
OSCARs (Outstanding Successful Coordinator Award & Recognition) Our OSCAR winners are recognized as the hardest-working people in any campaign! Coordinators are eligible in one of three categories based on the number of employees within their company. They must attend coordinator training, as well as demonstrate innovative ideas, strategies, or incentives when running their campaign. Coordinators must also meet three of five additional requirements, which include participating as a United Way volunteer; showing an increase in per capita giving, employee participation, or employee giving; and conducting employee meetings where United Way representatives can share information about United Way.
